Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation logo

Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual employees and financial representatives have spearheaded fundraising events nationwide – like lemonade stands, golf outings and run/walk events – to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research and support working with our nonprofit partners. Through our partnership with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, we have funded over 130,000 hours of research to advance the work of childhood cancer researchers.  Our company thanks you for your generosity and for helping Northwestern Mutual to help accelerate the search for cures for childhood cancer and to provide support for families fighting the disease.

For 75 years, the Center for Disability Services, known as the place where people get better at life, has been one of upstate New York’s largest providers of programs and services for individuals who have disabilities. Many of the innovative programs and vital services the Center offers are not available elsewhere. It has more than 80 locations throughout 15 counties and annually provides programs and resources to more than 12,000 infants, children, adolescents, adults and seniors who have many different disability diagnoses including cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities, multiple sclerosis, autism spectrum disorders, epilepsy, spina bifida and traumatic brain injury.

Northwestern Mutual was once again the presenting sponsors of the 23rd Annual An Aficionado Experience featuring Musician & New York Yankee, Bernie Williams.

From toddlers to teens, cancer is the second leading cause of death (after accidents). In the United States, more than 13,000 children under the age of 21 are diagnosed with cancer every year. But the survival rate continues to improve, averaging 80 percent – thanks to increasingly specialized treatments, leading-edge expertise and ground-breaking research.
The Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center is leading the way. We are the only provider of care for children and teens with cancer and blood disorders in the 25 counties we serve. With more than 5,000 visits annually, The Melodies Center is a regional health care resource, offering highly specialized and effective care to children and their families.
